Get A Room!

Get a Room is an improv duo that I am a part of (along with the very funny, very talented, very my girlfriend Becca Trabin). We made our debut last week at Philly Improv Theater’s Cagematch- a show which pits improv team vs. improv team in a fight to the finish with audience votes decided who emerges victorious. For the first time in Cagematch’s 51 show history – the audience was split evenly and the show ended in a tie! Which means, next month, Becca and I get a rematch against Pasiones de Pasiones (Mike Marbach, Andy Moskowitz, and Ralph Andrachio) which means, you should come out and watch this grudge match and vote for us. Until then, you can like us on Facebook!

The whole roast has made its way online on Philly Improv Theater’s Youtube Page – or you could find them all posted on Philly comedy website WitOut.

Luke Giordano’s “I Suck at Stand-Up Comedy Podcast”

My friend Luke Giordano started a new podcast a few weeks ago called The I Suck at Stand-Up Comedy Podcast (click for itunes link). It’s a really cool idea for a show, in which Luke listens to one of his bits, breaks it down, and basically goes through the rewriting process for listeners to hear. It’s a great way to see how the stand-up comedy sausage is made, if you’re into that kind of stuff. This week, I join him to break down one of my own bits, add some ideas, and talk about what does and doesn’t work when telling a joke about Rocky Balboa outside the city of Philadelphia. Check it out here!

New Philadelphia Comedy Website

Hey Everybody! For a few years, the Philadelphia comedy scene had an internet home at Comic Vs. Audience – but about a year ago, the site shut down so its writer Dave could concentrate on grad school and his busy schedule.

Today, a new website launches that will report on all the goings on in Philadelphia Comedy. WITOUT.NET will feature interviews, show reviews, and already has a comprehensive list of open mics, performers, groups and upcoming shows in the Philadelphia area. It will be the new hub for all the information you need about comedy in Philly. Check out the website, and follow them on Twitter for all your Philadelphia Comedy news.
